Day 12 - Out and about

I've been for a walk with @elaronndy this afternoon. It was cold but lovely! I love the silhouette of this tree in the low winter sun.
I've cheated and added another photo below because this Robin was actually posing for us and I can't resist!

Targets ambitions and goals new blog post on here too today  x

Day 11 Your pet

This one was more difficult as we don't have a pet! Not even a goldfish. The photo below is the nearest thing I have to a pet. I love these and we are fortunate to live near an RSPB site so get lots of birds. This Robin was on a rock that is on a small lane near by and the local 'twitchers' put bird seed out for the wild birds, its lovely!

Day 10 Something you have made

I often make calendars, cards and diaries as presents but rarely make myself one! I found some free templates via Twitter @shuttersisters (link below) which fit into a blank CD case. At the time I had just spent an afternoon at Kelham Island in Sheffield so used the photos to make myself a calendar.

Day 9 Your favourite shoes

Day 9 – Your favourite shoes.
Like many other women I have loads of pairs of shoes! I have some I’ve never worn. I take a size 3 shoe and the sales always have so many pairs it would be an insult not to buy some. I have some I’ve only worn once. I bought a beautiful pair of pink satin material kitten heels for my son’s wedding but only managed to wear them throughout the service, they hurt so much I carried them round for most of the day (they did however, match my outfit perfectly!)
I have school shoes, shopping shoes, walking shoes, I understand the term ‘car to bar’ only shoes…..
I do have a problem with heels, I just can’t wear them! I’m 5’2’’ so heels would be good and I have tried on numerous occasions, hence the shoes never worn.
The photo today is two pairs of my favourite shoes. The red ones with heels obviously come into the stylish but never worn category (notice I’m sitting down!) – an impulse e bay purchase but I’m keeping them!
(If you want to be able to take self-portraits like this then a remote shutter release is great along with a tripod)

 cost about £15 upwards

The other pair are my ‘Frederick’ shoes – simply because I bought them in a small town called, funnily enough, ‘Frederick’, near Gettysburg in the USA. My husband is Civil War fanatic and our touring holiday took in lots of battle sites and included a fair bit of walking (there are over 1,300 monuments on the Gettysburg National Park site – trust me I know!!)My feet were blistered and cut beyond belief, I was in agony and had so many plasters and blister pads I could hardly walk. We found this tiny shoe shop and asked (well begged really) for a pair of walking shoes in size 3….to cut a long story short these were perfect. The assistant seemed a little concerned that I hadn’t asked for a price before declaring that I had to have them. I would have paid anything! The beauty of these shoes is that they were there when I needed them. Not stylish and a grotty pale green colour BUT oh the joy of pain free walking.
So - comfort or style? Comfort every time I’m afraid but the red ones will stay in the wardrobe for me to gaze at from time to time x

Day 8 - Lunch

This was my lunch today. yes I know it's not good for me, I know a cereal bar is unacceptable! I ate it in the car on the way from one job to the next - the joys of freelance! (Photo taken on my phone)  On a positive note - don't you just love my Harris Tweed bag and we are going back there this Summer...yay! My Buy a pair of Harris tweed ankle boots fund is building nicely.

Day 6 Someone who inspires you

Day 6 is 'Someone who inspires you' - the person above has been both a true friend and a real inspiration to me, many of you will already know him but maybe not in his 'guises' above!
I know some people were concerned about how they would take today's photo but to be honest one of my resolutions this year is to stop worrying so much - so the photos above were taken last year but edited today - it's ok to break the rules!
Anyway, enough waffling, why is Hywel (@hywel_roberts) my inspiration - he gave me back my self belief and confidence when I was struggling, he showed me that you do not have to stay in a job that is making you unhappy and held my hand every step of the way.
We go way back in that we did our AST assessments together, learnt together, shared an office (aka a cupboard/corridor), taught together and trained others together. I remember Darren Holmes saying to us once that he'd never seen a pair of teachers laugh so much and have such fun in the classroom.
That said, he is also an amazing musician, an award winning author, a wonderful family man (although young Tom R often is as bemused by him as we all are).
This was a good challenge day as it also gave me a chance to say 'Thanks Mate' x
